Our Love Story
Our love story has been one full of interesting twists and turns. This year will be our biggest obstical yet, a year spent with him in Korea and I back in the states. We met in 2007 by surprise, I had been living at home working a full time job and taking college classes here and there. I felt trapped in life and that I was going nowhere fast and thats when I realized I needed to change my life in some way and for once I took the more dramatic approach and joined the military. My mom was not thrilled to say the least, growing up I was the dancer, cheerleader, girly girl type and here I was telling her I wanted to join the military. But that's what I wanted to do and thankfully my mom supported me through it all. Going into this new and exciting and scary part of my life, I wanted to focus on making it through and getting used to living a new life style I didn't want or need a boyfriend... Ya that worked out real well for me...
I entered Basic training 9 January 2007 and with a whole lot of prayer and God, I made it through. I got to Tech school 6 weeks later and was not looking forward to becoming an engine mechanic, but at least they were going to teach me what to do (which by the way I had no idea what I actually signed up for; an engine mechanic is what?!?!?) As soon as we got off the bus and got our stuff together we lined up and had to be marchedd around base so we knew what was where. We were marched by "Rope"; other tech schoool students who thought they were cool so they took on leadership roles in the squadron, Green was the lowest level and anyone who wanted to could pretty much be a Green rope. Yellow was the next step up and few were chosen for that, and then the Red rope was the top and in our squadron we had one to two Red ropes at a time (remember that for later), they were the one's running the show. Well the rope that just so happened to be the one marching my group around was no other then the yellow rope Warner. I at the time was way more caught up in the freedom we were given and trying to learn where everything was and getting things I needed for my dorm room, I didn't really pay any attention to who was showing us everything ;)
In a dorm of let say 1,000 students, 400 AGE and 600 Jet troops, I would have to say all together there were maybe around 150 to 200 females all together, so when a blond headed girly girl walks in, everyone notices which made the whole situation for me more stressfull. Being in the military was a brand new life, getting ready to become a mechanic was a very scary thing and then being the minority as a female was not what I was readay to deal with, but there it was right in front of me!
And that's where our story begins!
